The foreign tourists must apply for a Tibet travel permit before entering to Lhasa and traveling around Tibet, according to the law of People's Republic of China. We can get only tibet permit or visa without tibet tour package so, you are expected to book your Tibet tour with a local Tibet travel agency and depend on it to submit the permit application.

Tibet is known as the Tibetan Autonomous Region. Its part of China and access is strictly controlled by the Chinese government. As a foreigner, you need to attain a special Tibet Travel Permit (TTP) in addition to your standard visa for China. If you're entering via Nepal, you need yet another visa, the Tibet Group Visa (TGV).

You can’t travel to Tibet by your own. It is mandatory to go with a guided tour, and stick to a restricted route carefully selected and monitored by the Chinese government. Your tour company should be able to organize your permits for you, but wait times can be long, so be sure to apply early. FAQs about Tibet Travel Permit

All foreign visitors are required to have a China visa when entering Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) via China. (Except for Singaporean, Japanese & Mongolian citizens who don’t need a China Visa while the visit is no longer than 15 days in accordance with the treaty between them and China). Additionally, you will need a Tibet Travel Permit, which we will organize as part of our service. No China visa is required in advance if you go through Nepal and we will provide the Tibet Permit on arrival in Kathmandu.
