Dhampus hiking begins and ends in Pokhara and offers spectacular natural scenery as well as a warm welcome from the locals.Dhampus, located at an elevation of 1,750 meters, is a well-known touristic village in western Nepal, to the north of the lovely city of Pokhara.Dhampus village offers visitors a breathtaking panoramic view of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Mt. Annapurna I (8,063 m), Mt. Fishtail (6,993 m), Hiunchuli, Lamjung Hinal, and other dozens of mountains in the Annapurna and Manaslu Himalayan ranges.

Dhampus is a gateway to the Annapurna Conservation Area for hill station tours. Beautiful hills, unique village life, and mountain views are the accelerators of Dhampus, helping him collect fond memories for life.

The Best Season for Dhampus Hiking

The best seasons for hiking to Dhampus are spring (March, April, and May) and autumn (mid-Sept., October, and November till mid-Dec.). If you are looking for nice views of clear mountains, Dhampus Hiking is possible year-round, with the exception of January and February, which are too cold.

Accommodation and food

We serve you three meals a day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) during Australian Camp Hiking or Dhapus Hiking. from typical Nepali food, Sherpa food, and Tibetan food to all types of international cuisine (continental, Italian, and Indian). We choose from the menu at the hotel or lodge during the hike to Australian Camp or in Dhampus. We use the lodges and hotels that serve hygienic, nutritious, and good food for the trekkers so they can get enough energy for the hiking. Accommodation during the trek will be arranged at lodges and standard hotels. The trekkers will have to share washing and toilet facilities.

Dhampus Hiking is considered a easy hiking in Nepal which is suitable for any age group. No technical skills or mountaineering experience are required for this hiking. Trekkers who have asthma, allergy or any other diseases related to hurt, lungs should take more precaution for this and any hiking or trekking in Nepal.

Day 1

Drive to Pokhara by regular tourist bus. about 7 hrs

Day 2

Drive to Phedi and trek to Dhampus

After taking satisfying breakfast at hotel in Pokhara, our trip starts with short drive to Phedi. From Phedi, our trekking starts along the uphill trail which continues for about 3 hours. On reaching Dhampus, relax and enjoy the breathtaking sceneries, walk around the village and explore the local livings. Overnight in a local run lodge.

Day 3

Hike back to Phedi and drive back to Pokhara

Early morning, enjoy the colorful sunrise over the Himalayas. See around the fresh environment, take your breakfast and attempt the easy downhill trek to Phedi. At Phedi, our private vehicle will receive us and drive back to Pokhara. Check in to your hotel and enjoy the free time ahead.

Day 4

Drive back to kathmandu or join other tour / trek

We will have our breakfast at hotel in Pokhara and drive back to Kathmandu. It takes about 7 hours to reach Kathmandu. Enjoy the drive witnessing the beautiful rivers, landscapes and traditional villages on the way back. If you are flying from chitwan to kathmandu than it will be about 30 min flight. Upon reaching Kathmandu you may chose to hang around in the city in the evening.

Trekking Plus field crews bring normal first aid kits on all of our tours, which is readily available for both customers and staff but we will recommend you to bring first aid kits yourself from your country because Nepalese medicine some time does not work properly. We are constantly in communication with our field office and monitor all aspects of government and weather issues that might affect your trip. Also, we are always available 24 hours emergency contact.

Drinking water

We will get mineral and boiled water along the trekking routes which is also an additional cost. We discourage not to buy Mineral bottle water but use boiled water from the local lodges and put water purify tablets. Plastic bottles are difficult to dispose off and have become an environmental problem in mountains.

What to take

Trekking Plus offers you a Trekking maps as a complementary and Company T-shirt.Trekking Plus would suggest you to pack as lightly as possible when you are on mountain. We provide one porter between two trekkers to carry your trekking gears. You will be carried your valuable things in a day pack by your own and your other bags will be carried by the porter in a duffel bag which we provided. Porter carries about 25 KG from 2 trekkers.
