When to visit - Nepal

Best times to visit Nepal – September, October and November

Overall the months of mid of September, October through to November are the best time to visit Nepal. With clear blue skies, pleasant warm temperatures and an abundance of vegetation post monsoon, these months are the optimum time to visit Nepal.

Green Season in Nepal – June, July and August

Monsoon season in Nepal runs from June through to August and is certainly not a time to visit. Heavy rain and wide spread landslides make travel around the country difficult and many tourist facilities will close down for the duration in mountain so it would be hard for trekking and tour to Nepal during this season.

Times with cool temperatures in Nepal – December, January and February

December through to February are some of Nepal’s coldest months, however clear blue skies and almost no rain make this a good time to visit the southern areas of Nepal such as Chitwan national park. High altitude trekking in these months is not recommended because of heavy snow fall and freezing cold.

Good times to visit Nepal – March ,April and May

Outside of the summer monsoon Nepal enjoys consistently good weather and is therefore a superb destination to visit year-round. Nestled between the peak season and the end of monsoon, mid-September is an excellent time to visit if you want to avoid the main tourist period whilst still enjoying some excellent weather. Once the main tourist season is over, the months between December and May still remain a great time to visit Nepal. Between March and May the temperatures increase, making this an excellent time of the year for trekking and Peak climbing in the Himalayas.
